I found this game on Steam and wanted to give it a play. Blackhaven is a first-person narrative game that follows Kendra Turner, a college intern at Blackhaven Hall, a historic mansion burned during the American Revolution. Working alone on a holiday, Kendra uncovers a trail of secrets and misdeeds that spans centuries and may determine her future.
You can find my video here, or click the image below. there is no camera or mic to distract you from the game. I do scroll through a lot of the documents in the third section simply so you have SOME reason to play this yourself. Here's a link to play Blackhaven on Steam.
My thoughts on this game: I love this game because it literally illustrates the critical importance of learning from history. The importance of finding the truth, the whole truth, so help you... And why it's so very important to embrace the truth, instead of hiding it or covering it up. Human kind, in history, has had some very dark moments and some very bad apples. Instead of hiding or covering up those dark moments, we need to observe, witness them, and then LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES so that we don't repeat them. When we tear down statues, change names and even stash unflattering historical evidence, we are literally lying to ourselves and we are hobbling our ability as a species to evolve to a more civilized society.
Overall, I enjoyed this game and already have the sequel in my Steam wishlist and will look forward to playing that one, too!
